Cohuna company Ellwaste leads the way with waste reduction in northern Victoria and southern NSW.

Cohuna company Ellwaste has got the waste and recycling needs of northern Victoria and southern NSW all sorted out.
Being the largest privately owned waste management company in rural Victoria, Ellwaste offers domestic, recycling and hygiene services to the broader community with established depots in Cohuna, Echuca, Mildura and Swan Hill.
Care and sustainability of the environment is at the core of their business and is backed up by a strong commitment to resource recovery.
Introduction of recycling into the area began over 10 years ago and has seen services expand to include kerbside recycling programs, bunker and silage wrap collections, cardboard and paper collections, green waste processing and the reuse of demolition waste. These services have all significantly reduced landfill in the region with the waste used for a growing range of products, created from recycled material.
Ellwaste is at the forefront of recycling and has gained valuable experience over the years. Kerbside recycling is now carried out in the Gannawarra, Loddon, Swan Hill, Wakool and Murray shires. All recycled product is transferred to the Swan Hill Materials Recovery Facility for processing.
Ellwaste carries out other environmentally friendly activities in the community including footpath sweeping in the Campaspe shire and a roadside litter collection in the Murray Shire.
Ellwaste offers frees waste removal for community based events including Cleanup Australia Day and Tidy Towns and recently purchased a mobile billboard to promote environmental awareness in the region.
Ellwaste owns and operates their own E.P.A. licensed regional landfill at Patho in Northern Victoria. The site has been in operation since 1998 and has a remaining life span of around 40 years.
Ellwaste also manages other transfer stations and regional landfills located throughout Victoria and NSW, on behalf of local government.
Hygiene services for sanitary, nappy and wash room requirements including soap and spray units extend from Ballarat to Wagga and from the Grampians to the High Country of Victoria. Contract work for service providers in Melbourne and Sydney is also carried out by a fleet of modern vans.
