Fonterra produces quality product
Yoghurt and cheese products manufactured at Echuca and Stanhope take out the top awards at the Australian Dairy Awards
Fonterras Echuca manufacturing site has scooped the pools at the 2011 Dairy Industry Association of Australia Australian Dairy Product Awards, receiving an impressive seven trophies, ten gold and 36 silver awards.
Fonterras Nestlé Ski Dlite Endless Summer flavour took out the grand prize for the highest scoring flavoured low fat yoghurt.
The Stanhope manufacturing site also won five awards for their cheddar cheese products.
Echuca Site Manager Liam Cotter said the awards recognised the consistently high quality products manufactured at both Fonterra sites.
Were very proud of our products and were thrilled Nestlé Ski Dlite in particular has been recognised with the Cryovac Australia Award and two gold awards, Mr Cotter said.
These Awards are an excellent achievement for all our employees and testament to the dairy
knowledge and yoghurt making expertise which exists here, he says.
Mr Cotter contributed some of the success to the recent $21 million expansion project which moved the production of all Nestle Ski products to the Echuca site.
This award demonstrates the benefit of being able to make the product ourselves.
Stanhope Site Manager Chris Diaz said he was very happy with his sites performance and in particular the Perfect Italiano cheese, which took out the gold award.
Thanks must also go to our milk suppliers who consistently provide us with the high quality milk
essential to the production of these great products, says Mr Diaz.
