A diverse economy, dedicated and highly skilled workforce, first-class amenities and lifestyle characteristics, an attractive location and pro-business attitude make Campaspe Shire the ideal place to live, work and invest.

Campaspe Shire offers affordable lifestyle choices, with untapped potential for investors.

The shire's geographic location guarantees excellent weather year round, which together with a range of landforms and soils capable of sustaining a variety of dryland and irrigated agricultural pursuits, means the shire's diverse farming sector contributes significantly to the local economy. The shire's primary industry activities include dairy and beef cattle, cereal crops, tomatoes, sheep and wool, aquaculture, viticulture, floriculture, fruit and vegetables.

The shire is serviced by a road transport network, with the Northern and Midland highways providing a direct link to metropolitan Melbourne and to the major provincial cities of Bendigo, Shepparton and Ballarat. The Murray Valley Highway provides a vital east-west link along the NSW/Victorian border to Albury-Wodonga in the east and Mildura in the west.

A rail network also services the shire and is mainly used to transport grain and other primary products from the NSW Southern Riverina belt, to major regional processing facilities and to international export markets out of the Port of Melbourne. V/line offers a containerised operation for Echuca direct to the water front. The rail line between Echuca, Bendigo and Melbourne provides a growing commuter and passenger service in addition to a comprehensive passenger bus service.

Air transport is provided with an all-weather aerodrome at Echuca with pilot-activated lighting and a non-directional navigation beacon.
